Installing custom firmware on HDR-1800T current software version UKTFAC01.01.20

My Humax is showing that I have software UKTFAC1.01.20 installed in 2018. I want to install the custom firmware to have additional functionality. I did this a while ago on a previous version of the box (which broke ). I have tried following the instructions at...

Help required playing files from dead FOX T2

Yay, using -@ works! Many thanks, Ezra and Martin. I installed the decryptor tool so many years ago that I forgot exactly what it does, except that it worked for my use case (watching over DLNA). Now I've got no excuse to not decrypt all of my wife's old recordings ...

Help required playing files from dead FOX T2

Hmm, I did have the auto-decrypt utility installed but maybe it stopped working?? Anyway, encrypted files sounds plausible, accordsing to the symptons I have. I downloaded stripts and cygwin files to my PC and tried running it. It claims that the key I gave it is incorrect for the recordings...

Help required playing files from dead FOX T2

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I tried playing an SD recording and that didn't work either. Since SD recordings are not encrypted, that would rule out that possibility, right? Also, I used to watch the HD recordings via DLNA on a PC.

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

How can I test whether it is the front panel rather than the main board? I only have a multimeter although I may be able to get my hands on a low speed oscilloscope.

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

I powered up the PSU, with the main board attached, and the correct voltages were present on the connector from the PSU to the main board (12V and 5.8V). I assume the main board is the problem since no lights come on the no HDMI output.

Help required playing files from dead FOX T2

My HDR-FOX T2 dies over the weekend after a power cut. I have removed the hard disk and can access the files ok. I had loaded the custom firmware with the auto-decrypter so none of the TS files should be encrypted. My problem is that I can't manage to play these TS files on anything else. These...

What To Do with a Dead or Unwanted HDR-FOX, HD-FOX, or DTR-T1000/1010

My HDR-FOX T2 has just died. The PSU is fine so it looks like the main board has gone (it never came back up again after a power cut). I have extracted the hard disk (more of that on another thread) so does anyone want wants left. I live near Cheltenham.
