It appears that others have come across the 'Can't enter a password' problem - in another place (Parliament-Speak).
Possibly they tried to 'Reset Freeview', assuming, as I did, that that was required to eliminate all duplicate channels whereas a straightforward Autotune did that and resulted in...
Update:
Having avoided Auto-Tuning to ensure no duplicate channels - the local transmitter is visible from my bedroom and is about 6 miles away and the main transmitter is nearly on the same bearing - I bit the bullet and set an auto channel scan. My antenna is an indoor one oriented...
The scheduled Recording of Songs of Praise on BBC1 HD on my Aura failed to occur today. Selecting 101 results in a blank screen and no sound - after the information graphics have cleared. But selecting instant recording creates a recording which can then be viewed.
Aware of the change to...
Personal Aura Review
I have had my Aura since November last year and can report no significant problems, probably because I only use it to record TV with an occasional use of catch-up services and it is directly connected to a 15-year old non-smart HD Panasonic TV.
I loaded VLC on the Aura to...
I use VLC to access the recordings on my HDR-Fox T2. Only accessed SD recordings so far as the 3 tuners on the Aura means the Fox is only used occasionally for the less regular channels.
GLT,
In the absence of a reply to my questions I have trawled the 'My Humax' Forum for an answer and I found:
1. Barry reported on 16/11/20 (Page 33 #327) that his timings were from '53s to 72s' [assumed Deep Standby to fully operational based on the context.]
2. You reported 'Time to live TV...
GLT,
I used an 8Gb USB stick with a red LED plugged into the Aura standard speed (black) USB port to indicate a powered-up port. It remained lit until after the HDD stopped spinning and when it went off so did the Ethernet LED on my BT Broadband Extender.
My results with this USB stick...
GLT,
I note your statement about requiring using the USB port as a Deep Standby Indicator
At first I used an indicator light on my BT Broadband Ethernet extender to indicate a deep standby condition. That is connected to a 'port' as far as I am concerned.
At this point, I carried out another...
GLT,
I shutdown my 1 TB Aura using the long remote power push at 2110 last night and left the Aura HDMI cable connected to the HDMI switch which had its input green LED lit. No other inputs were connected to the switch and nor was the TV HDMI cable.
At 0800 this morning I checked the set up...
GLT,
In preparation for an overnight shutdown of the Aura I connected an unpowered techole HDMI Switch to the Aura and onto the PVR input on my TV which showed a green LED powered from the Aura. I then 'shutdown' the Aura using the long Power-Off push.
I had expected that the HDMI Switch LED...
For GLT,
Please forgive my ignorance but what has the 'USB Cable' got to do with supplying power to the Aura, if your statement about the LED going out refers to that of the Aura?
One way for this to be investigated is for you to repeat the timing experiment just after your HDMI switch light...
Set up WiFi on my Aura, disconnected the Ethernet and repeated the experiment. Similar timings achieved.
Your hypothesis about stored energy in the power supply capacitors is interesting and I will investigate when I can leave the Aura off for a significant amount of time. A minute seems a long...
For GLT,
My results are as below. Note that I used the 'Ethernet' LED on my BT Broadband extender, which is connected to the Aura, to indicate full low-power standby. The LED stays off when a device 'is not connected or powered off' according to the user documentation and my experience. I...
Further to my #515, there are recordings scheduled for tonight and so I will not be able to leave the box in low-power standby overnight. I can leave it set in low-standby for a few hours tomorrow morning before experimenting.
If you look back on the posts #129, #130 and #131 you will see that when I first challenged you on the start-up times and I stated I was referring to its initial mains connection, you stated "Your box was in active sby, hard disk running and only the video and audio outputs turned off. All it...
Please note that my timings in #147 were with the Firmware previous to the one recently provided.
My timings were based on (1) from the switch-on of the mains supply (dead box) and (2) the pressing of the Remote power button (in low- and active-standby) with the direct HDMI-linked non-smart TV...
I wish to challenge Grahamlthompson on his post at #454.
He states that active standby to live TV is 'near instant' and that from low power standby takes about '2 mins'.
In his post #129 (response to my #128) he stated that to power up from low-power standby took '2-3 mins'. I did not...
I have had 2 x 9200s and currently have 1 x HD Fox-T2, 1 x HDR Fox-T2 and a TVonics HD500. I bought an Aura to provide access only to terrestrial TV catch-up services and, at the same time, replace the HDR Fox-T2 which will not go on forever.
So far, I have been happy with the product. Yes, it...

Again I am not making myself clear. When I say I plugged my Aura into the Mains then yes that was from a zero power level to the Set Up screen, not from an active standby state.
Although not exactly comparable to an initial mains connection I carried out a comparison of times from the low...
